All rights reserved. I am using an Audio Technica 4040 - I paid $299 for it at Guitar Center. After some looking about, I decided to go for the Amadeus Lite. I worked with cool edit pro @ clear channel and most recently have been working with Creative wave studio bundled with the rane v12.

I am a beginner to editing and want to learn. website here You will likely be using some Noise Filter later on and if the background noise is considerably less than the intended audio (your voice) the easier it is for the filter

A friend came over today who has bought several audio editing and recording apps, and I had an opportunity to try amadeus pro, sound studio, audio hijack pro, and piezo. I also use sound flower and garage band for my system voice recording as audio hi jack broke somethign with the system voice and recording the mic as well. I will say there are a multitude of plugins you can get working with Goldwave if you feel the need..both DirectX, Winamp..and if you don't mind wrapping something twice, VST. Chris is very conscientious. The tutorials are set up for someone more advanced than I am and is mostly aimed toward musicians, which I am. Technology was always a big part of his classroom environment, and after six years, he shifted over to a technology facilitator position.

Even so, you will likely have some stray peaks that will go much higher, possibly all the way to 0db (which is 100%) -- and some may actually go higher.
